Real-Time Mode lets you bend between chords as you play them in real time on your MIDI keyboard.
Instead of triggering chords from fixed slots, you simply play each chord manually—and FluidChords2 takes care of bending smoothly from one to the next.
How Real-Time Mode Works
● You begin by playing a Home Chord on your keyboard.
● While holding that chord (either using a sustain pedal or a timed hold), you play the Target Chord.
● FluidChords2 automatically bends from the Home Chord to the Target Chord, using the Auto Bend settings you’ve defined (glide time, bend curve, and pitch bend range).
● Once the bend completes, the Target Chord becomes the new Home Chord.
● This cycle continues as you keep playing new chords—each one bending from the last.
Steps to Use Real-Time Mode
1. Switch to Real-Time Mode using the Mode Selector.
2. Play your first chord on your MIDI keyboard—this becomes the Home Chord.
3. Hold the chord using either:
○ Your sustain pedal, or
○ The built-in Hold Time feature (more below).
4. While the first chord is being held, play your next chord—FluidChords2 will smoothly bend to the new chord.
5. The new chord becomes the next home chord, and the process repeats.
Sustain Modes
You can choose how the Home Chord is held before transitioning to the next one:
1. Pedal Mode (Sustain Pedal):
● Use your MIDI keyboard’s sustain pedal to hold the Home Chord.
● As long as the pedal is pressed, the chord will be sustained.
● Release the pedal to stop holding the chord.
Pedal Polarity Setting:
● Depending on your pedal type, you may need to set the polarity to either + or − (positive or negative).
● This ensures your pedal behaves correctly (pressed = on, released = off).
2. Time Mode (Hold Time):
● Instead of a pedal, you can enable Hold Time Mode.
● In this mode, each chord you play will be held automatically for a set number of beats.
● The timing is synced to your DAW’s tempo, and you can set hold values like 2 beats, 4 beats, 8 beats, etc.
● This is useful if you don’t have a pedal or want hands-free control.
