What’s New in Fluid Pitch V1.3 Update

The Fluid Pitch V1.3 update brings major enhancements including standalone functionality, expanded scale collections, and improved workflow features for modern music producers.

Key Features Added

Standalone Version Support

Fluid Pitch includes a standalone version which runs outside the DAW. Use it with MPE-supported DAWs such as Ableton Live, Bitwig, Studio One, Cubase, and more.

Enhanced Scale Collection

Various scale presets added—Japanese, Chinese, Indian (Carnatic and Hindustani), and Arabic scales for global music creation.

Improved GUI Controls

The input pitch-bend wheel in the GUI can now send pitch bend messages to the plugin while dragging with a mouse

Pro Tools Compatibility

Fluid Pitch is now available as an AAX version for Pro Tools (monophonic only).

Preset Management

A “Load” button is available in the Keyswitch preset menu to load saved presets easily.

Bug Fixes and Improvements

This is a FREE update to all existing customers!

How to Use Standalone Fluid Pitch

Standalone App Overview

Fluid Pitch Standalone App runs outside the DAW. It takes MIDI from your keyboard and sends it to the DAW through a virtual MIDI port. In Polyphonic mode, it acts as an MPE controller.

Recommended DAWs

Fluid Pitch Standalone is recommended for Ableton Live 11, Studio One, Digital Performer, Reason, Maschine, Samplitude, and more.

Creating Virtual MIDI Ports

MacOS Setup Instructions

  1. Launch “Audio MIDI Setup”
  2. Open “Window” menu and click “Show MIDI Studio”
  3. Double-click the IAC Driver icon
  4. Activate “Device is online” checkbox
  5. Create a new port by clicking “+” under “Ports”

Windows Setup with LoopMIDI

Windows doesn’t offer virtual MIDI ports natively. Use a third-party utility like LoopMIDI (free for private use).

LoopMIDI Setup:

  1. Download, install and open LoopMIDI
  2. Enter a name for the new virtual MIDI port
  3. Click the ‘+’ button to create the port

Other options include LoopBe1 and sbvmidi.

DAW Configuration Steps

Standalone App Configuration

  1. Open the Fluid Pitch standalone app
  2. Go to Settings and choose:

DAW Settings Configuration

  1. Open your DAW settings
  2. Set the virtual MIDI port as MIDI Input
  3. Enable MPE mode in Ableton 11 and Studio One 5.3+
  4. Insert a synth plugin on a track
  5. Choose the virtual MIDI port as MIDI input
